These heel inserts are made to use floor reaction forces to align the load-bearing heel, and are trimmed to allow the first ray to plantarflex without obstruction. These inserts are imported from England, and are hard for therapists to find in the US! Use this Sizing Chart to determine proper size.
Please Note: Sizes 5, 6, and 7 are no longer available from the manufacturer. We are exploring options for new sources, but for now we do not anticipate being able to offer these sizes any longer. Our apologies!
The TheraTogs Ankle Dorsiflexion Assist (DFA) System is a competitively-priced TheraTogs solution licensed exclusively to Progressive GaitWays.
The DFA is available in multiple sizes, in three configurations:
Gait Trainer System: Recently redesigned with stronger and more durable TogRite components, the Gait Trainer can be configured for either in-shoe or outside-of-shoe wear.
Sleep System: Reduce or prevent calf contractures with a comfortable, sleep-friendly system that provides low-load, prolonged elongation to shortened calf muscle and soft tissues while protecting the midtarsal joint from strain.
Combo System: Get the best of both worlds with a Combo configuration that includes both Gait and Sleep systems of appropriate size!
The DFA can be useful to persons exhibiting calf muscle contracture – or the potential to develop a contracture – in the presence of the following problems and diagnoses:
- Cerebral palsy
- Traumatic Brain Injury – acute, post-acute, and chronic phases
- Hemiplegia due to Stroke – acute, post-acute, and chronic phases
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Congenital Equinus Deformity
- Plantar fasciitis
- Toe Walking

Assessment Tool Kit
The essential Assessment Tool Kit (featured in Billi Cusick’s
Legs & Feet assessment techniques DVD) contains six must-have tools for performing consistent assessments:
- 12-inch clear plastic goniometer
- 18-inch flexible ruler
- 3.5-inch gravity-driven level
- X-inch black plastic caliper
- x-inch telescoping stick
- 8-inch standard goniometer
This gravity-driven level can be used in a variety of clinical measurement applications. The floating indicator is set against a scale marked in four “quadrants” of 90 degrees each, making it useful in almost any position. The grooved, straight edges are marked in inches and easily seat a Telescoping Stick for maximum representation of underlying long bones.
